The SAWA Programme is creating dignified and fulfilling employment opportunities for young women across Ghana's catfish value chain through an innovative, integrated aquaculture model. Anchored by the Adwenepa Hub, SAWA combines seven complementary delivery pathways that connect production, processing, technical support, feed production, marketing, and urban aquaculture into one sustainable ecosystem.
Our Delivery Models

Urban Blue: Fish Farming Moves to the City
Newage Agric Solutions is putting young women into catfish production — not on farmland, but in their own compounds.Ask most Ghanaians to picture a fish farm and they'll describe the same thing: earthen ponds, somewhere rural, a good distance from town. It's an accurate picture. It's also the reason aquaculture has stayed out of reach for the young women who need income most — the ones living in Accra, Kumasi, Tema, Ho and the towns around them, where land is expensive and a pond is out of the question.
Urban Blue starts from a simple observation. You don't need a pond to raise catfish. You need a tank, clean water, good juveniles, feed, and someone who knows what they're doing standing beside you for the first few months.
