Technical Officer – Rice Production

Job Description:

The Technical Officer for Rice Production will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the cultivation, management, and optimization of rice production on a 4-year “Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for the Youth” (HAPPY) project that aims to increase agricultural productivity, value addition and create jobs for youth and women along the Rice value chain in Ghana. This role involves working closely with farmers, implementing best practices, and contributing to the overall success of agricultural initiatives focused on rice.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Proven experience in rice production, including crop management and optimisation.
• Knowledge of modern agricultural technologies and precision farming techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Proficiency in relevant agricultural tools and software.
